Career woman
A career woman describes a woman whose main priority in life is achieving success in her career and profession.[1] These women can also be described as more interested in her career than in being married and having children.[2]
History
The phrase was first coined in the thirties as a way to remind women that a career does not have a greater importance than her husband and family. This term was mainly used from the early thirties to mid nineties. <ref>Orange, Michelle (2017). "Professional Lives: Career Women on Film". Virginia Quarterly. 93: 178–181 – via Project MUSE.
