History

Cannock Chase Radio was created by Rob, Jane, and James Hughes, who felt that the area needed a radio station of its own. Many radio stations cover the area, including Heart, BBC WM and Free Radio Black Country, but due to the fact they cover also larger areas, like Wolverhampton or Birmingham, it can be felt that the Cannock Chase area is overlooked in terms of radio. Therefore, the trio decided to launch a radio station dedicated exclusively to the area.

During September and October 2014, premises were found in Kingston Court Cannock, opposite the Electric Palace Cinema.[1] The station has since moved to premises in Bridgtown, Cannock.

Presenters

Presenters change from time to time; current presenters are listed on the Cannock Chase Radio web site.[2]

Availability

Cannock Chase Radio can be heard online, on TuneIn, on Alexa and on the stations own Apps.

Pye Green Tower

Since launch, Cannock Chase Radio has used the Pye Green BT Tower in its logo to show that it is a local radio station. Pye Green Tower is a local landmark and is visible for miles around, and for many people from the area, it is a sign of being near home.

gollark: Well, yes, if people buy from them.
gollark: Since GTech\™ ends up buying decent amounts of metal, generally in bulk directly from miners.
gollark: I'd mostly just hope for lower margins really.
