Calla Curman
Calla Curman, née Lundström (1850–1935), was a Swedish writer, salon-holder and feminist. She was the founder of Stångehuvud nature reserve (1925), ladies' club Nya Idun (1885), which was the female equivalent of the all-male cultural club Sällskapet Idun, and a board member of a number of societies, notably Friends of Handicraft in 1880–1904, and the Swedish Dress Reform Society. During the 1880s and 1890s, she hosted De Curmanska mottagningarna ('Curman Receptions'), a well-known literary salon.
Calla Lundström was born to rich industrialist Karl Frans Lundström and Sofie Malmberg, and received in-home tutoring from a private tutor. In 1868, she married doctor Adolf Liljenroth (1836–1874) and in 1878, she married professor Karl Peter Curman.
