Origin

After a vote by the Abbeville County, South Carolina school board, Calhoun Falls High School was closed in 2008.[2] The people of the town of Calhoun Falls took the education of their students into their own hands by forming a charter school. The school was opened in August 2008 as Calhoun Falls Charter School on the same campus as the former Calhoun Falls High School.

Academics

The school graduated its first class in June 2009, with 32 graduating seniors.[3] CFCS offers courses at the college prep and honors levels, as well as college dual-enrollment courses through an agreement with Piedmont Technical College.

Athletics

CFSC's athletic teams are known as the Flashes.

Calhoun Falls Charter School Booster Club is a not for profit 503(C) organization that raises funds for the sole purpose of funding organized sports within the school. No public tax dollars are used to fund these programs. One notable alumnus is Chelsea Tillman.

Alma mater

CFCS' alma mater is the same as Calhoun Falls High School's. It is an adaptation of Cornell's "Far Above Cayuga's Waters."

Far above Savannah’s waters
With its waves of red
Stands our noble Alma Mater
Glorious to view

(Chorus)
Calhoun Falls High, we will honor
Loud, her praises tell
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
Hail, all Hail CF

Honor to the blue and gold
Colors of our school
They're the pride of Calhoun Falls
Hail, all Hail CF

(Chorus)
Calhoun Falls High, we will honor
Loud, her praises tell
Hail to thee, our Alma Mater
Hail, all Hail CF

Administration

The principal is Kalan S. Rogers and the Assistant Principal is Lori Lindler.[4]

gollark: Who even knows. If you stretch the definitions a bit, fire and stars are life.
gollark: I mean, Conway's Game of Life is Turing-complete and has self-replicators, those are "life".
gollark: It could probably exist in basically any with sufficiently... something... rules, given a broad enough definition of "life".
gollark: I read somewhere that if we had four dimensions and similar physics things would be too unstable to work, and two dimensions doesn't really provide enough connectivity to do much, but I don't think you can give much of a meaningful answer beyond "it just is".
