C. Mauli Agrawal is an Indian-American academic, who has been chancellor of the University of Missouri–Kansas City since June 2018.[1]

Early life and education
Born in Allahabad, India, Agrawal earned a Bachelor's degree of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. Agrawal then moved to the United States, earning a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University in 1985, and a PhD in mechanical engineering from Duke University in 1989.[1]
Career
Agrawal co-founded Diabetica Solutions in 1997, and was a consultant and advisor to the pharmaceutical industry, specializing in implantable biomaterials and medical implants.[2] Prior to assuming his role as Chancellor, Agrawal served as vice president for academic affairs and interim provost at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Agrawal’s research focuses on orthopedic and cardiovascular biomaterials and implants. He holds over 29 patents and has been published in several academic journals.
