Céline Buckens
Céline Buckens (born 9 August 1996) is a Belgian-British actress.[2] She is known for portraying the roles of Émilie in War Horse, and Mia MacDonald in the Netflix series Free Rein.[3][4]

Early life
Buckens attended Thomas's London Day Schools and St Mary's School.[5] She then studied History at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Buckens was also a debutante at the Bal des débutantes in Paris.[6]
Career
Buckens acting career began when she portrayed Émilie in Steven Spielberg's 2011 film War Horse,[7][8] a role she won after only two auditions. The character is a young French girl who lives on a farm with her grandfather after she lost her parents in the war.[1] In 2015, Buckens starred in a short film titled The Rain Collector, as Vanessa Kentworth. The film is a historical drama exclusive to Amazon Prime.[9]
Since 2017, Buckens has appeared in the Netflix series Free Rein as Mia, a series regular.[10] She also appeared in an episode of the ITV drama Endeavour in 2017, as Daisy Bennett.[11] In 2018, she starred in Ne M'oublie Pas (English: Forget Me Not), a French short film, as the lead character Elsa.[12]
In November 2019, she appeared in the drama thriller film The Good Liar as Annalise.[13][14] In May 2019, it was announced that Buckens had joined the main cast of the Cinemax action series Warrior, set for 2020. She will portray the role of Sophie Mercer in the second series.[15]
