History

King Bulelani Lobengula was the first to take up rule in the Mthwakazi Kingdom following a 124-year defunctory period. He became the 3rd King in September 2018 after the disappearance of King Lobengula more than 124 years ago.[7] He currently resides in Ntabamhlophe royal palace.[8] Despite several attempts to block his coronation by the Mashonaland led Zimbabwean Government, King Bulelani Lobengula was crowned in a private ceremony by royal Khumalo house.[9]

Many congratulatory messages were sent to the new king from many civic societies, as well as from his subjects, notably including the firebrand restorationist political movement the Mthwakazi Republic Party which, since 2014, fought for the restoration of Mthwakazi kingdom.[10]
