Buddleja davidii 'Royal Red Variegata'

Buddleja davidii 'Royal Red Variegata' is a cultivar of undocumented origin, last known to have been sold in the UK by Mill Race Nursery in Essex during the 1990s.[1] Another variegated form of 'Royal Red', it is considered inferior to the lower-growing 'Harlequin'. [2]

Description

'Royal Red Variegata' is distinguished by its combination of its 30 cm-long panicles of crimson-red flowers and leaves with creamy-white margins. [1]

Cultivation

'Royal Red Variegata' is now rare in cultivation in the UK. Hardiness: USDA zones 89. [1]

  • Should not be confused with Buddleja davidii 'Variegata', a synonym of 'Florence'.
