History

Bright Side was created on 15 March 2017 as a channel for uploading videos about history, knowledge and how-to trivia. The channel focuses on releasing animated videos with general content about facts and riddles.[3] Bright Side has been described as a "popular content farm channel".[4]

In June 2019, Bright Side made Angus Barbieri's fast into a YouTube sensation after creating an animated video documenting Barbieri's 382-day fast. The video received over 300,000 views within a week of its upload.[5]

Its most popular video is called "13 Tips on How to Survive Wild Animal Attacks" which was created in late 2017. As of June 2020, the video has almost 80 million views, the channel's most popular video.

The channel is operated by TheSoul Publishing, a Cypriot company founded by Russian developers Pavel Radaev and Marat Mukhametov. The company also owns the channels 5-Minute Crafts, 5-Minute Crafts Kids, 5-Minute Crafts Girly, 7-Second Riddles and 5-Minute Magic.[1] The company releases 1,500 videos a month, "operates 40 Facebook pages in 10 languages and has 550 employees".[3]
