Brett Leboff
Brett Leboff (born 16 February 1979 in Watford, Hertfordshire, England) is an artist manager and founder of Monumental Management UK.

Monumental Management
Brett set up Monumental Management in 2005 and was swiftly joined by Len Bendel. The two had met through music connections in Leeds, having both been heavily involved in playing and studying music in the city for many years.
Brett Leboff was originally a session drummer and teacher who played in the live Hip Hop Band Thelonious appearing at venues such as The Jazz Cafe, London and Ronnie Scott's. The band also featured Grammy Award Winning Keyboard Player from Snarky Puppy, Bill Laurance. Brett Leboff joined forces with Len Bendel who was a bass Player and Multi Instrumentalist, who graduated from Leeds College of Music having majored in Jazz, and then became a Music Lawyer. Both of them went about putting Monumental Management Ltd firmly on the map in London.
The first acts signed to Monumental Management were Lana and Big Strides. Within months of signing Big Strides they were booked to play in front of 000’ of people at Summer Sonic Festival, Japan signed licensing deal with Reservoir Records - EMI Japan for Strides first record “Small Town, Big Strides” then subsequent records “Cry It All Out” and “Super Custom Limited”. During this time Monumental promoted sell out shows at Electric Ballroom, Camden London and Scala, Kings Cross, London. They went on to return to Japan on tours supporting Little Barrie and The Charlatans. Over the years they clocked up radio plays on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music.
They later signed license with India Media Distributed by Rough Trade Records in Germany. Appeared on German television and played as part of British Music Week in Berlin.
Music At Monumental released the Blue EP by Lana in 2006 and then followed up with her debut single the following year ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ was released on Monumental Music Club. Which received extensive play on BBC 6 Music. This was followed by Trippy Kind Of Love and Ruthless. All the videos were made by the talented video producer Nick Swinglehurst of Curve Films.
In 2006 Monumental Management signed Dan Goldman aka JD73. The ex-Morcheeba keyboard player whilst writing his album during this time, had Music At Monumental release the JD73 debut single ElectroBoogie, which had rave reviews in national press, as well as receiving Radio play on BBC Radio 1 and Kiss FM. The 2nd single ‘Happy People’ was released by the Wax On Label, set up by legendary producer of Nightmares On Wax, George Evelyn] aka DJ E.A.S.E Monumental Management then signed the album to Ropeadope Records, Philadelphia.
In the same year, they signed Brotherly the mastermind broken beat band headed up by Robin Mullarkey and Anna Stubbs. Their debut single released on Bugz In The Attic’s label Bitasweet. The tune being a huge dance floor classic in the Broken Beat scene and a Gilles Peterson favourite ‘Put It Out’. They went on to record a BBC Radio 1 Live session at the famous Maida Vale Studios for Gilles Peterson and were nominated for a best tune award at his award ceremony held at London’s Koko. The second single was released through The sister label at the time Music At Monumental (now Monumental Music Club) called ‘Searching’ it received national radio play and was another dance floor winner in the scene. Music At Monumental then release the Brotherly album entitled One Sweet Life feat. Ty, Eska and Earl Zinger. It was warmly received by the Broken Beat scene.
Robin Mullarkey went on to play bass for Zero 7, started playing Bass and touring with Roisin Murphy and Anna Stubbs has collaborated with Hospital Records and several session singing projects.
Monumental Management Ltd signed Dean James Barratt the legendary producer who has worked with Nitin Sawhney, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, ShyFX, Benga and others. Brett Leboff and Dean James Barrett ran the production company together for several years, and worked on many albums that gained radio play and recognition in press and radio worldwide.
Monumental Management negotiated and executed licenses for Gabby Young and Gabby Young & Other Animals 1st album with World Connection in the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland, Four Quarters Entertainment in the USA and Other Tongues in Australia. Monumental organised a 3 month world tour that spanned from Japan, Australia, West Coast USA, including SXSW, Mid-West USA to Europe and the UK. Prior to the band having a booking agent, Monumental booked festivals such as Glastonbury Festival (Avalon Stage), Secret Garden Party, Shambala, De Affaire (Netherlands), Standon Calling and many others. The band went on to sell out venues such as Scala, London and had multiple sell out shows at Koko.
Sued Sony Records
On behalf of Grammy nominated producer and mix engineer Dean James Barratt, as his manager at the time, Brett Leboff, and his business partner and Lawyer Len Bendel launched a case and legal proceedings against Sony Records who had illegally used a track of Dean James Barratt's on a 'Westlife' DVD. After a lengthy legal battle lasting several months Sony agreed to settle out of court for an undisclosed sum.
World Tours
Brett coordinated and put together a World Tour for Gabby Young and Other Animals which began in Asia, moved to Australia, West Coast USA, Mid West USA, East Coast USA, Europe and the UK (working closely with booking agents, promoters and labels on all continents). Constant touring activities were arranged in Europe and the UK including industry convention shows, record store appearances including the famous Amoeba Music in San Francisco as part of his tenure as manager over a 6 year period.
Several Tours in Europe, Japan, Australia, USA and the UK were arranged and coordinated for Big Strides.
Tours, festivals and live dates were also booked by Brett for Pat Dam Smyth and his band.
Monumental Productions
After a year of managing Grammy nominated Producer Dean James Barratt. Brett Leboff the managing Director of Monumental management and Producer/Mix Engineer Dean James Barrett decided to join forces and set up Monumental Productions. They were based at The Dairy Studios in Brixton for just over a year and in late 2009 moved to a studio in Hoxton Square, Shoreditch, London.
Monumental Productions (UK) Ltd's last project were productions with Nitin Sawhney and the 3rd Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly record for Atlantic Records. The doors were closed on Monumental Productions as a company in 2013.
Monumental signings
In 2010 Monumental Management signed Gabby Young and managed her project Gabby Young and Other Animals, and Trenton Birch aka Trenton and Free Radical. Dean James Barratt produced Gabby Young & Other Animals debut album ‘We’re All In This Together” and in late 2009 records the debut album with Trenton and Free Radical. During this period they also worked with Danny & The Champions of The World, JD73, Brotherly and Lana. All of these acts received radio play in the UK on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2
Gabby Young and Other Animals have gone on to receive extensive radio play on BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 2 with her debut single and album and performed on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends' with the legendary Clive Anderson. She was featured in The Guardian Newspaper 'Ones To Watch in 2010' as well as front cover of The Sunday Times Music Section. Their 2nd album was released in June 2012.
In 2014 Monumental Management launched a brand new model of management for the music industry and most recently have signed KAFRi and his Drum The World project Oded Kafri. Most recently, Monumental secured a showcase at The NAMM Show 2016 in LA for KAFRi, a show at the World Percussion Festival, Delhi, India and a TED Talk.
Diplomats of Sound CIC
In January 2017, Brett Leboff joined the music booking agency Diplomats of Sound as Head of Artist Development and formed a partnership and new company with the Creative Director and Founder of both Chai Wallahs Festival Stage (Best Independent Festival AIF Award Winner) and Diplomats of Sound Booking Agency Si Chai. Diplomats of Sound CIC is a Social Enterprise Not-for-Profit Artist Development Agency. Brett, as Head of Artist Development in the Agency, is working with artists who have proven their professionalism, enthusiasm and musical quality through playing the Chai Wallah stage throughout the festival season. The artists are assisted with strategy, management coaching/consultancy and social media strategy, guidance and implementation.
