Blackwatch

Blackwatch is a role-playing game published by Different Worlds Publications in 1989.

Description

Blackwatch is a science-fiction space-adventure system in which the player characters are members of the Blackwatch, a freelance organization of troubleshooters.[1] The character rules describe a fairly complex skill-based system.[1] Characters can be human or one of four alien races, including a race of shapeshifters.[1] Included are rules for how to role-play, planet creation, equipment, robots, starship design and combat, and psionics.[1] The "Blackwatch Universe" and a dozen star systems are briefly described.[1] The first edition is individually numbered.[1]

Publication history

Blackwatch was designed by Ted Greer and Peter Christian, with illustrations by Gary Davis, and published by Different Worlds Publications in 1989 as 140 pages in a 3-ring binder.[1]

Reception

gollark: I think you can do better with CSS animations.
gollark: There are better systems for electing representatives than the extremely terrible first-past-the-post one in use, but nobody is using those. I don't trust people enough to expect direct democracy to produce remotely favourable outcomes. But the politicians who get elected are also quite bad, so who knows.
gollark: How long do eels take to recharge? If you swap out the eels fast enough, it should be possible to keep a current constantly.
gollark: "Never put off until tomorrow what you can avoid altogether" is another good one they will probably *also* complain about.
gollark: “You need the power of the logarithm.” is apparently a quote by "Rich Hickey", which happens to be written on a page I have open on some persistent tree datastructure.
