Binh Duong New City

Binh Duong New City, also known as Binh Duong Smart City[1], is a collaborative urban development project in Binh Duong, Vietnam, by Becamex-Tokyu. The area is projected to become the central district of Binh Duong City, in accordance with a 2020 project proposal.[2] The new urban area will be a gateway for international trade, service exchange and technological development.

The location was chosen by the provincial People's Committee and People's Council to be the administrative centre of the province. With Bình Dương already considered to be the gateway to HCMC (the economic cultural centre of the country), the New City will be an extension of this cultural hub. Taking investments from both domestic and foreign investors, Becamex IDC has notably invited the Research Institute of Design of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as a key consultant to help complete the detailed construction planning.[2] Located in a convenient central location, Binh Duong New City is hoped to become a gateway for international connectivity, trade, and services exchanges, as well as exchange and transfer of technology in the highest advanced level of science.[2]

Building projects

With a large focus on building a tech-forward community in the province, the project includes several points of attraction:

  • Centralized administrative center of Binh Duong
  • High–Tech park
  • Financial, Banking and Securities center
  • Offices for rent, restaurants and luxury hotels
  • International convention and exhibition center and a university
  • Public Area: parks, ecological lakes, cultural centers, a kindergarten, hospitals
  • Technical Infrastructure: roads, water drainage systems, underground electricity system, and communication Systems.[3]

Plans for residential properties will accommodate 125,000 local people, whilst new facilities will open up jobs to 400,000[4]
