Harvey, a key forward, managed just two VFL appearances, against Collingwood and Footscray in the 1948 season.[1]
He then played in the Diamond Valley Football League for Heidelberg and kicked 102 goals in 1950, the most by any player that season.
In 1951 he joined Preston.[2]
He was the grandfather of North Melbourne games record holder Brent Harvey.[3]
