Bhagyalakshmi (actress)

Bhagyalakshmi a.k.a. Bhagyasri is an Indian film heroine and Tamil television actress.[1] She was a prominent heroine during the 1980s to 2000 in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu films.[2] She has done nearly 60 films in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu.[3] Her first movie was Deviyin Thiruvilayadal in 1982 in Tamil. Her first Malayalam movie was Asthram in 1983.[4]

Personal life

She is born in an Aristocratic Brahmin Family to Shivaram Iyyer and Rajamani ammal at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Her father is from Palakkad settled Tamil Iyyer family and mother is from Saurashtra Brahmin From Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu. She has a younger brother, Engineer Rohith Kumar. She did her studies in Presentation Convent, Church Park then known as Sacred Heart Matriculation School. She had her primary education till 10th grade after that she could not complete her studies since she became busy with movies by then. She learned classical dance from Dhananjayans.

She married Film Producer Vasudevan, a Malayali from Gujarat, on 14 April 2001. He is in garment business. After marriage she retired from film industry and settled in Gujarat for 15 years. The couple has a son, Vishwajith. They are currently residing at Chennai. Currently she is busy in Tamil Telugu Films.[5]
