At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for Breakthrough Artist.[3]

At the J Awards of 2019, the album was nominated for Australian Album of the Year.[4]

Background

Donnelly independently released her debut EP, Thrush Metal, in 2017.[5] She was signed to Secretly Canadian in February of 2018, while Thrush Metal was re-released by the label that June.[6] One song off of Thrush Metal, "Boys Will Be Boys", was included on Beware of the Dogs.
