Bernard Pearson

Bernard Stanley Pearson (born 13 September 1946)[1] is a British artist and author best known for sculptures of Discworld characters and buildings. He initially produced figurines at Clarecraft, which he co-founded, and upon leaving began a series of highly detailed Discworld buildings, most notably a multiple-piece Unseen University.

He currently spends less time sculpting, focusing more on designing and producing a large range of other merchandise including the highly collectible Discworld stamps with a team of designers and illustrators. He frequently collaborates on work with the official Discworld artist Paul Kidby.

He owns and runs The Discworld Emporium (formally named The Cunning Artificer), a shop in Wincanton, Somerset. The shop mainly sells Discworld books and related merchandise, including the stamps, figures, games, tie in publications and various artifacts and artwork, as well as pieces created by various other companies and artists. He lives in Wincanton and manages the shop with his wife, Isobel.

The nickname "The Cunning Artificer" was given to him by Terry Pratchett, based on the Street of Cunning Artificers, Ankh-Morpork, often mentioned in the novels.

In May 2018 his first solo novel titled Dovetail was published.
