Berit Stensønes

Berit Stensønes (born 1956)[1] is a Norwegian mathematician specializing in complex analysis and complex dynamics and known for her work on several complex variables.[2] She is a professor of mathematical sciences at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU),[3] and a professor emerita at the University of Michigan.[4]

Education

Stensønes completed her Ph.D. in 1985 at Princeton University. Her dissertation, Envelopes of Holomorphy, was supervised by John Erik Fornæss.[5]

Book

With John Erik Fornæss, Stensønes is an author of the book Lectures on Counterexamples in Several Complex Variables (AMS Chelsea Publishing, American Mathematical Society, 1987; reprinted 2007).[6]

Recognition

Stensønes is a member of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters.[7]
