History

Bedok South Secondary School was established in 1980 with a teaching staff of 50 teachers and an enrolment of 1022 students. In June 1980, the school had the entire premises to itself after initially sharing its premises with Temasek Secondary School and Hong San Primary School. It was officially declared open on 29 April 1982 by Lee Chiaw Meng, Minister of Parliament for Tanah Merah Single Member Constituency. It was located along New Upper Changi Road, in the Bedok housing estate before being relocated to its current premises at 1 Jalan Langgar Bedok in 2003.[3]

The new campus was officially opened on 21 February 2004 by Mr Abdullah Tarmugi, Speaker of Parliament and MP for East Coast GRC (Siglap). A sports hall was constructed for the school in 2009. The school now sits on a 3 hectare plot of land.[4]

gollark: What?
gollark: Troubling.
gollark: Instead of a top down design.
gollark: You'd probably just have to emulate all the low level human bits to make things work right.
gollark: That would be an entirely different issue to just having AGI in the first place.
