* Senior club appearances and goals counted for the domestic league only |
In the 1998–99 season, he shared the place of the score leader of the Croatian First Football League with his teammate from Rijeka, Igor Musa, both scoring 14 goals. The championship was marred by scandal, as Rijeka almost became Croatian champion, but because of non-football events, didn't get the title of champion. Note: that year, in general, Joško Popović from NK Šibenik was the leading scorer of First League, but his team played in the "bottom" league (Liga za opstanak), where teams played to avoid relegation, while Sztipánovics's team played in the "League for Champion" (Liga za prvaka).
While playing for Maribor, he scored the decisive goal in the last match of the 2000–01 season against Olimpija Ljubljana in Ljubljana to secure the fifth championship for Maribor.
