Bangla Olympiad

Bangla Olympiad[1][2] is an olympiad competition[3] organized by an International Hope School Bangladesh with a view to promote proficiency in Bengali language among English medium students[4][5] The 7th Bangla Olympiad was divided into six categories including essay writing, poem recitation, music, extempore speech, group dance and drawing[6]

Beginning

Bangla Olympiad was first started in on 21 February 2011 as a commemoration to International Mother Language Day.[4][5][7]

Aims and Objectives

Bangla Olympiad aims to commemorate an International Mother Language Day and shares an objective to make aware the students about culture and heritage of Bangladesh[8]

Recognition

Approximately 2000 national and international students participate in an olympiad every year [9]Bangla Olympiad of 2020 seems to serve as a medium to improve bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and United States as the Organisation will be sending 3 students to United States to promote bilateral cultural relationship between the two nations[4][10]
