Baltimore Green Construction

Baltimore Green Construction (BGC) is a green builder practicing residential and commercial construction in Baltimore, Maryland.

The firm led the design-build team for the Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center, a near-zero net energy environmental center on the banks of the Patapsco River. The building features passive solar heating, solar photovoltaics and solar hot water, advanced air sealing, and a ground source heat pump.[1]

The company also built the Herring Run Watershed Center, the first LEED-NC building in Baltimore City. The building received a Gold rating from the USGBC and features a green roof, composting toilet, energy efficient lighting and insulation, and tankless hot water.

In 2008, Baltimore Green Construction was named "Best Eco-Friendly Construction Company" by Powered by The People Magazine, which also named the Herring Run Watershed Center the "Best Energy Efficient Building".

BGC is currently designing/building and co-developing 35 affordable, green, universally-accessible homes in Howard County, Maryland for the Howard County Housing Authority.

gollark: There's the Pine64 PinePhone, which can run various Linux distributions.
gollark: Yes. Ish.
gollark: There's even a Ubuntu Touch GSI, and maybe eventually a postmarketOS one will happen.
gollark: On the plus side, Project Treble means that the drivers/hardware mess on ARM is somewhat mitigated, and you can flash generic-system-image ROMs on most modern devices which allow bootloader unlocking and have stuff mostly work.
gollark: I like having a smartphone and would really not want to not have one, but oh something or other the software choices are so awful.
