History

Joe Balaguer, founder and owner of the company, graduated from the Guitar Craft Academy in 2009, a luthier program within the Musicians Institute. Prior to starting Balaguer Guitars, he repaired and restored vintage instruments in Los Angeles before re-locating back to Pennsylvania.[2]

The company was founded in 2015, following a series of successful prototypes prior to full production. Balaguer Guitars has manufacturing facilities in USA, South Korea, and China.[3][4]

Instruments

Balaguer Guitars Standard Series

The company's product range includes the Hyperion, the Helion,[5][6] the Astra[7] and the Thicket.[8][9] The Espada is a higher-end range model, retailing around $1099.[10] The company also has a custom shop where players can design specific models.[4]

Notable players

gollark: It looks like some sort of abstract art piece.
gollark: Are those LED filament lights, then, or some sort of magical multicolored incandescents?
gollark: Cool idea, since you could also run networking over that and control lighting over something less unreliable than wireless whatever, though I imagine needing a network switch would increase the costs.
gollark: Though it's always hard to get new standards to actually be adopted anywhere.
gollark: It might make sense to have home lighting use lower-voltage DC instead of mains AC now, and have a big converter somewhere, to avoid every bulb having to contain expensive and in some cases unreliable and flickery conversion electronics.
