The school was built on land donated by His Highness Late Maharao Bhim Singhji of Kota. Dr. V.K.R.V. Rao (then Minister of Education) laid the foundation stone on 24 May 1970. The building was inaugurated on 25 July 1974 by Shri Mohan Lal Sukhadia, then Governor of Karnataka.

Activities
A 5 day camp is organized each year. These schools have a NCC (National Cadet Corps), NSS (National Service Scheme) and scout sections where students can show their talent.
The school's facilities include internet-aided computer labs, hostels, a science museum, a swimming pool and a stadium.
Scholarships
- Shri B.R. Singhi Scholarship is awarded to the student who secures the 1st place at 11th, commerce in school.
- Smt. Parwati Devi Chaturvedi Memorial Scholarship is a two-year scholarship given to girl candidate who secures the first place in a school in the secondary examination.
- Maharao Sahib Shri Brijraj Singhi Ji of Kota presents a gold medal every year to the all-rounder and the best student of school on the occasion of annual function.
- Smt. Parwati Devi Smt. Chanda Devi Chaturvedi Memorial Trust is an awarded scholarship in the memory of the Late. Smt. Pramila Chaturvedi to the student who secures the highest marks in class VIII.
- Chaube Rajaram Madan Gopal Chaturvedi Memorial Trust Charitable Trust is awarded a scholarship in the memory of Pt. Badriprasad Shastri (Sanskrit Teacher) to the student who secures the highest marks in Sanskrit subject in secondary Board Examination.
- Smt. Radha Devi is awarded a girls scholarship to the girl student who secures the highest marks in science in class XII.
- In the memory of Sant Maya Bharti, Singhada Ghat Kota Scholarship is awarded to the best girl in the school.
