In 2012, its 65th year, The Queen accompanied by The Duke of Edinburgh, visited Bailey of Bristol and toured its factory.[2][3] as part of the Diamond Jubilee tour of the UK.

The company is based at South Liberty Lane in South Bristol and also has a second production plant in Clevedon, North Somerset. In addition it has a subsidiary parts and accessory business, PRIMA Leisure, located in North Bristol.

Famous Bailey caravan owners include Dame Margaret Beckett DBE MP.[4][5][6] and the TV presenter Rowland Rivron [7]

History

The first Bailey caravan was built in 1947 by Mr Martin Bailey in his garage in South Bristol. He sold it for £200.[8] In 1948 F G Bailey Ltd was officially formed and produced its first caravan called the Bailey Maestro. Martin Bailey sold the business, then named Bailey Caravans, in 1977 to Patrick and Stephen Howard, and is still owned by the Howard family today.
