Career
Club
Sarr started his professional career at Icelandic team Selfoss, before being loaned out to French side CA Bastia in 2012.
In December 2012, Sarr signed a four-year contract with Start.[1] He made his Start debut 17 March 2013 against Hønefoss, helping his team to a 3-2 win.
On 13 July 2014, Sarr signed for Sogndal,[2] playing there for two seasons before signing for Norwegian side Molde.[3] Sarr was released from his contract with Molde by mutual consent on 18 January 2019.[4]
On 5 February 2019, Sarr signed for Yenisey Krasnoyarsk.[5] On 3 March 2019, in his Yenisey debut, he scored a late equalizer in a 1–1 game against FC Rostov.[6] Following Yenisey's relegation from the Russian Premier League at the end of the 2018–19 season, Sarr was released by the club.[7]
Just hours after Norwegian police declared him internationally wanted,[8] Damac of Saudi Professional League announced his signature on 11 June 2019.[9]
Personal life
Whilst playing for Sogndal, Sarr was accused of rape on an end-of-season players’ trip to Stockholm in 2015, though Swedish police did not press charges against the player. Sarr was later accused of four more rapes whilst a player of Molde (with one of the women giving birth to his child), but was acquitted by the Molde district court in August 2018. However the prosecution appealed, and a second round of criminal proceedings was scheduled to start on 14 February 2019. Sarr also refused to give blood sample in order to aid the inquest.[10] The case was postponed for eight months on 14 February 2019.[11] Sarr is currently wanted internationally by Interpol for failure to appear in court and as a suspect in another rape case[12].
