Aziz Ur Rahman Hazarvi

Aziz Ur Rahman Hazarvi—also translated as Pir Azizur Rahman Hazarvi[1]—(born; 2 February - 1948 - 23 June 2020) (Urdu: عزیز الرحمٰن ہزاروی), was a Pakistani Islamic Scholar, senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F)[2] and president of Jamia Darul Uloom Zakaria in Islamabad[3]. He was the authorized caliph of Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandhlawi. In 2014 Pir Aziz Ur Rahman Hazarvi gave Khilafat to Muhammad Ilyas Ghuman.

Death

He died on 23 June 2020 at the age of 72 years. Head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Central General Secretary, Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri and Maulana Abdul Wasay expressed sorrow and grief over the demise of the great religious scholar Pir Aziz-ur-Rehman Hazarvi and said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has lost a great leader.[4][5] His funeral prayer was led by his 43 years old friend Mufti Syed Mukhtaruddin Shah, who is also the authorized caliph of Muhammad Zakariyya al-Kandhlawi. The funeral was attended by many scholars like Mufti Syed Adnan Kakakhail and thousands of his students[5].
