Ayşe Önal (footballer)

Ayşe Önal (born February 14, 1996) is a Turkish women's football forward currently playing in the First League for Karşıyaka BESEM Spor with jersey number 7. She played in the Turkey girls' U-17 national team before joining the Turkey women's national U-19 team.[1]

Early life

Ayşe Önal was born in Konak district of Izmir on February 14, 1996.[2] She was schooled in Karşıyaka High School in Karşıyaka district of Izmir.[3]

Önal was inspired in football playing by her elder brothers.[2]

Playing career

Club

Ayşe Önal began football playing in her hometown club Karşıyaka BESEM Spor after receiving her license on June 10, 2008. She became part of the senior team in the 2008–09 season. At the end of the 2013–14 season, her team was promoted to the Women's First League.

International

Ayşe Önal was called up to the Turkey women's U-17 team, and debuted in the match against Azerbaijan on April 19, 2012 at the UEFA Women's Under-17 Development Cup scoring also her first international goal.[4] Further, she took part in the 2013 UEFA Women's Under-17 Championship qualification round – Group 10 matches.[5][6][7] She capped six times for the Turkey girls' U-17 national team.

In March 2013, she was admitted to the Turkey women's national U-19 team, and played at the Kuban Spring Tournament. She took part at the 2014 UEFA Championship First qualifying round – Group 10,[8][9] 2014 UEFA Women's Under-19 Development Cup and 2015 UEFA Championship First qualifying round – Group 4 matches.[10] As of September 18, 2014, she capped 21 times in total for the Turkey women's national U-19 team.
