Awdal and Borama massacre

The cities of Borama and Awdal are located on the far northern tip of Somalia. In 1991, about 1000 civilians including children were killed in the six weeks after the Somali National Movement militia entered Borama from Ethiopia.[1] The militia was commanded by colonel Muse Bihi, who is the present-day Somaliland president.
