History

According to CEO Mihir Shukla, Automation Anywhere was originally founded as Tethys Solutions, LLC[10] in San Jose, California by Ankur Kothari, Mihir Shukla, Neeti Mehta, and Rushabh Parmani.[11][12] The company rebranded itself as Automation Anywhere, Inc., in 2010.[10] As of 2018, Automation Anywhere's customers included Google, LinkedIn, and GM.[8][13]

In 2018, New Enterprise Associates and Goldman Sachs led a funding round that resulted in over $250 million invested in Automation Anywhere.[12][13] In the same year, SoftBank invested over $300 million in Automation Anywhere.[9][14]

Automation Anywhere's products combine traditional RPA with cognitive elements such as natural language processing and reading unstructured data.[12] These include bots with machine-learning capabilities.[12][13]

In September 2019, Automation Anywhere was ranked No. 29 on the Forbes Cloud 100.[15]
