Autauga County Sheriff's Office (Alabama)
The Autauga County Sheriff's Office, is the primary law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of Autauga County, Alabama, United States. As a constitutional officer the Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer within his County. The current sheriff is Joe Sedinger.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office was established in 1819. The first sheriff, was Jacob P. House, who served two terms until 1821. Autauga County is located in the central portion of the state. Currently the office serves a population of approximately 55,000 people in a 604-square-mile (1,560 km2) patrol area. This area encompasses suburban and rural type settings.[1]
Structure
The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office is divided into the following divisions:[2]
- Patrol Division: consists of 20 deputies; responsible for patrolling and answering calls, along with serving civil papers, subpoenas, and felony and misdemeanor warrants.
- Investigative Division: consists of 4 investigators and 1 digital forensic analyst; responsible for investigating every reported felony crime offence and also the apprehension of the suspects that they pursue.
- Civil Division: consists of 4 part time deputies; responsible for serving the majority of civil papers and court summons within the county, along with serving property evictions, and transporting inmates to a variety of locations across the state.
- Narcotics Division: responsible for identifying suspects involved in drug crimes and the violent crimes associated with the drug trade.
- Dispatch Division: consists of 6 dispatchers; responsible for protecting the lives of deputies through knowing their locations, and keeping all communication lines open, along with fielding calls from the public and dispatch deputies for calls for service.
- Special Operations Unit: responsible for resolving high-risk tactical situations, such as high-risk arrest warrants, search warrants, hostage situations, crowd control, dignitary protection, and escorting high-risk detainees.
