Aquakultre

Lance Sampson known professionally as Aquakultre is a Canadian hip-hop and rap band known for winning CBC's Searchlight award in 2018.[1]

Career

In an interview with CBC, Lance explained he got the idea for his artist name 'aquakultre' through his career as a plumber, 'aqua', and 'kultre' comes from canadian music in general. At age 19, he was convicted for drug trafficking and given five years in federal prison.[2] After 19 months he was released on the basis of good behaviour.[3] In May 2020, Sampson released their debut album, Legacy, which gained national media attention.[4]

In 2020 Aquakultre released 'Legacy', a studio album pressed, and distributed by Black Buffalo Records.[5][6] The album was longlisted for the 2020 Polaris Music Prize.[7]
