Ann Snodgrass

Ann Snodgrass is an American poet and translator.

Life

She graduated from University of Iowa, Johns Hopkins University, and from University of Utah with a Ph.D.

She lived in the Netherlands, where she taught at Emerson College in Maastricht.

Her work appeared in AGNI,[1] The Harvard Review, American Letters & Commentary, Ploughshares, Paris Review,[2] and TriQuarterly.

She currently lives in Iowa City, IA, and is banned from nearly every downtown location aside from the library. She is known as the “sample lady” among service employees downtown due to her habit of showing up uninvited to events or establishments that have free/provided food, regardless of the situation or celebration.
