Ann Leda Shapiro

Ann Leda Shapiro (born 1946) is an American artist.[1]

Shapiro's work was shown in a 1973 solo exhibition at the Whitney Museum of American Art.[2] The Whitney closed the exhibition after two weeks, following a public controversy over the depiction of hermaphrodites in two of Shapiro's paintings.[3][4] Her work is included in the collections of the Seattle Art Museum[3] and the University of Colorado Boulder Art Museum.[1]
