Andrew Bernardi

Andrew Bernardi (born 22 April 1965) is one of the most successful English violinists, educators, festival directors and a music entrepreneur.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7] He lives in the parish of Shipley near Horsham, and has performed with many of the UK's leading orchestras, including Guildford Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The Bernardi Music Group. He is a long-serving member of the professorial staff at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, from where many of his pupils have become leading professional musicians, teachers and arts managers. His Bernardi Music Group has become a distinguished professional orchestra, Shipley Arts Festival, Stradivarius Piano Trio, String Academy and a very successful China UK exchange programme Trinity Sannyi Music Academy. The Shipley Arts Festival has become one of the leading British Music Festival's in Sussex and the UK, and many new works have been commissioned, including 'Great Hill's' by Cecilia McDowall, 'The Margraves Dream' by Malcolm Singer and 'To Notice Such Things' by the late Jon Lord (formerly of Deep Purple) and in memory of Sir John Mortimer. He has for many years collaborated with the Yehudi Menuhin School, with whom he is closing the 2019 Shipley Festival with Malcolm Singers 'Dragons.' Bernardi is sponsored by Nyetimber, Kreston Reeves, NFU Mutual Henfield, Toovey's, and Wakefields for Rolex.

Bernardi is in demand to perform and collaborates internationally and he recently broadcast to over 40 million on prime time China television. He has performed as guest concertmaster for Manchester Camerata, the Oporto Chamber Orchestra as well as frequently sharing leading Bernardi Music Group. He is married to Lucy Bernardi and they have a son, Joshua Bernardi.

Bernardi was educated at The Skinners' School, Tunbridge Wells, Leeds University Bretton Hall and Trinity College of Music, where he led all the orchestras as a postgraduate scholar. Bernardi plays on a priceless Stradivarius violin, and violin bow formerly owned by Lord Yehudi Menuhin.
