Amit Agarwal

Amit Agarwal became Solicitor General of Florida on June 10, 2016.[1] Before his appointment, he had served as the deputy chief of the Appellate Division for the United States attorney for the Southern District of Florida in Miami.[1]

Agarwal received a degree in English from Duke University before attending Georgetown University Law Center where he graduated magna cum laude.[1]

Agarwal, who had served as a law clerk for Brett Kavanaugh while he was a judge on United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit from 2006 to 2007, strongly supported Kavanaugh's nomination to the United States Supreme Court in the media [2] and before the United States Senate.[3]

Agarwal also served as a law clerk for United States Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito.
