Amer Zahr

Amer Zahr is a Palestinian-American comedian and political activist.

Biography

Zahr was born in Jordan to refugee parents of Palestinian heritage originally from Nazareth, and then moved to the United States when he was three years old.[1][2][3]

Zahr was raised in a Christian-Muslim family in the Philadelphia area. His father is Christian and his mother is Muslim.[4]

He now lives, and is based in, Dearborn, Michigan.[5] He is an adjunct professor at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law.[6]

In 2016, Zahr served a national surrogate for presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.[7][8]

In 2013, Zahr founded the "1001 Laughs Dearborn Comedy Festival," which continues annually.[9] He wrote "Being a Palestinian Makes Me Smile" and made the documentary We’re Not White, which was released in August 2017.[10][11][12][13]

If I remember right, that person was not very receptive to people saying that they were doing stupid things) when doing something you can quite easily recognize as potentially dangerous is stupid.
