Amaravati ki Kathayein

Amravati Ki Kathayein is an Indian anthology TV series, based on the Telugu short story collection "Amaravati Kathalu" by Satyam Sankaramanchi. It was directed by Shyam Benegal and aired on the main channel of Indian National Broadcaster Doordarshan. It originally aired every Monday between May 29 to Aug 29, 1995 and had a total of 13 episodes. The series had a second run in 2005 also on Monday in 9:30 PM time slot.[1]

The stories were based in village of Amaravathi,[2]in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It depicted snippets from daily life of the people of the village.[1] In a review Sheila Vajpayee of Indian Express wrote, “Amaravati Ki Kathayein is a rebuke to all of us who consistently complain that television and quality are irreconcilable enemies." Writing for the Times of India Iqbal Masood called the series "path breaking" and urging Doordarshan "to make its channels more decent and civilized with series like Amaravati Ki Kathayein”.[3] The episodes were 22½ minutes long.

gollark: Well, the problem is this:- you only set `state` once at the beginning of the program- it's probably `true` then- it goes into the `if state == true` branch, which only sets the `txt` variable
gollark: Sandboxing is actually pretty hard if you want to make most existing programs work about the same (but sandboxed). But Firewolf doesn't really have that excuse.
gollark: There are probably other holes.
gollark: But the unsafe bits were *removed*, instead of safe bits being *added*, so eventually `openTab` got added and it didn't get updated and so you can now execute stuff out of the sandbox on advanced computers.
gollark: Specifically, for some foolish reason they allowed webpages to access `shell`, without unsafe functions like `run`.
