History

Kagawa clan used Tadotsu Castle( Motodaiyama Castle ) in Tadotsu as a residence and it was considered unsuitable to withstanding a siege, thus Amagiri Castle was built in 1364 by Kagawa Kagenori as a supporting Castle of Tadotsu Castle.[1][3]

In 1581, Kagawa Yukikage accepted the authority of the Chōsokabe clan and adapted Chōsokabe Motochika's second son Kagawa Chikakazu(Chōsokabe Chikakazu), thus the castle was used as a military base for Chōsokabe clan in Sanuki Province.[4]

In 1585, Toyotomi Hideyoshi launched a campaign to pacify Shikoku, after two months of the battle Chōsokabe Motochika surrendered to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. Kagawa clan was abolished by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and later Kagawa Chikakazu returned to Okō Castle then Amagiri Castle was abandoned.[2]

There are little remains of the castle on the present day site, just some Stone walls and earthworks.

gollark: But surely if the users think you're nice they'll try and get specifically you more often.
gollark: Why would you LIKE interacting with users? Have you SEEN users?
gollark: > System administrator is the best tech job hands down. I love getting paid to install things.Does it involve dealing with users?
gollark: Isn't that *also* kind of bad? I mean, you're subject to departmental politics stuff probably, have "publish or perish" going on, etc.
gollark: "It's only real work if you do manual labour, because that was around longer and is thus evidently the only valid kind, and it looks more difficult to me."
