Ali Akbar (director)

Ali Akbar is an Indian filmmaker who works in Malayalam cinema.[1][2][3][4] He directed more than 20 Malayalam movies, including Bamboo Boys, Junior Mandrake, Kudumba Vaarthakal and Pai Brothers.[5][6][7][8][9]

Ali Akbar received the Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director in the year 1988 for the movie Mamalakalkkappurathu.

Ali Akbar has contested in 2014 parliament elections from Vatakara constituency in the Aam Aadmi Party banner.

He contested in the election to the Kozhikode Corporation as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.[10]
