Akidearest

Agnes Diego (born February 16, 1993), known online as Akidearest, is a Filipino-American YouTuber. She is best known for discussing anime, manga, otaku culture and Japanese related content on her YouTube channel.[1]

Early life

Agnes Diego was born on February 16, 1993, in California and raised in Virginia, then eventually moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. Her parents are of Filipino descent and migrated to the United States prior to her birth.

Aki's earliest jobs include working at a thrift shop, bookstore, and movie theater, while attending college full-time. After completing a degree in Psychology at university, Aki decided to pursue YouTube as a career.

Youtube channel

Aki created her YouTube channel "Akidearest" on December 18, 2014, and uploaded her first video December 26, 2014 titled, "REACTION: DMMD Love Scene".[2]

Her most viewed video is titled, "So I Gave My Alexa a Pikachu Voice and It’s Weird" with over 12 million views as of July 17, 2020.

Aki is making Japan based content, with a focus Japanese pop culture.[3]

Other work

In 2020, Aki interviewed Japanese guitarist and artist, MIYAVI at YouTube Studios.

In 2019, she also appeared as a cameo in the Nintendo Switch Game, The World Next Door by Rose City Games.

Aki was also a co-host for the SBS Podcast titled, The Anime Show, together with Joey, The Anime Man.[4]
