Ahmed Helmy
Ahmed Muhamed Helmy Abdel Rahman Awwad (Arabic: احمد محمد حلمى عبد الرحمن عواد; born November 18, 1969) is an Egyptian comedian, actor, film producer, television presenter, author and television personality. He started his career in 1993 on the Egyptian Satellite Broadcast. In 1998, he appeared on his first movie Aboud Ala El Hodoud, which received commercial success, co-starring with Alaa Waley El Din.

Biography
Helmy was born in Banha, Qalyubia Governorate, Egypt to a Sunni Muslim family. He graduated from The Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Egypt. He also graduated from the Academy of Arts, High Institute for Theatre Art in 1993.
As an actor and performer, Helmy is notable for his fast-thinking and witty comedy. His career in mainstream Egyptian film began when director Sherif Arafa spotted him on the children's program Leib Eyal (Kids' Play) on the Egyptian Satellite Broadcast. Sherif found in him the comedian he was looking for to start his film, Aboud Ala El Hodoud (Abboud on the Borders). In that film, Helmy made his first big-screen appearance, co-starring alongside Alaa Waley El-Din. Thereafter, he quickly made a jump to leading roles in films such as Omar 2000, El Nazer (The Headmaster), El Selem We Al Tho'ban (Snakes And Ladders).[1]
In 2001, Helmy fought a theatre experience for the first time in his life in the play ″Hakeem Eyon″, with "Alaa waly El-din", and Kareem Abdel-Aziz.
In 2007, Helmy topped the Egyptian Comedian market in the number of audience and revenue, mostly due to the success of his movie Keda Reda.
Personal life
He is the middle child to his two siblings, Khaled and Sally.[2]
At the age of eight (8), Helmy moved to live abroad in Saudi Arabia due to his father's job.[3]
Helmy is married to Egyptian actress Mona Zaki and has 3 children: Lilly (2003), Selim (2014), and Younis (2016).
Health
He was diagnosed with cancer and was treated in 2014 by removing the Tumor from a muscle in his back.[4]
Ambassador for UN World Food Programme
Egyptian actor Ahmed Helmy has previously collaborated with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) to help promote the Food for Education project launched in association with the Chipsy food products company.[5]
Arabs Got Talent
Ahmed Helmy was a judge on Arabs Got Talent for its third season. He joins the Lebanese singer Najwa Karam, the Lebanese journalist and TV personality Ali Jaber, and the Saudi comedian-actor Nasser Al Qasabi. MBC has confirmed that he will stay as a judge for the show's upcoming fifth season.
