Afar (magazine)
Afar is a publication focused on experiential travel.[1] The company also operates a non-profit foundation providing scholarships for educational journeys for students. Greg Sullivan and Joseph Diaz launched the magazine in 2009, after a six-week trip to India.[2] Afar is headquartered in San Francisco, California and has an office in New York City.[3] The magazine was featured on The Martha Stewart Show,[4] and has received awards in the travel writing and journalism industry (Lowell Thomas Awards).[5][6] Content is also available on the magazine's website and mobile application.[7][8]
