Acnistus
N.B. the monotypic genus Acnistus was subsumed in the genus Iochroma by J.M.H. Shaw in 2016 and the species formerly known as Acnistus arborescens is now known correctly as Iochroma arborescens (L.) J.M.H. Shaw ].[1][2]

Acnistus is a monotypic genus in the plant family Solanaceae, the nightshade family : the only species currently recognised is Acnistus arborescens - common names ( inter alia ) Hollowheart, Fruta de sabiá.[3][4] This species has recently been transferred to Iochroma [5].
- Acnistus cauliflorus is a synonym of Acnistus arborescens
- Acnistus lorentzii is an unresolved name, but some data suggest that it is synonymous with Eriolarynx lorentzii (Dammer) Hunz.
- Acnistus parviflorus is a synonym of Acnistus arborescens
