3rd Kure Special Naval Landing Force

The 3rd Kure Special Naval Landing Force (3rd Kure SNLF) were troops of the Imperial Japanese Navy's Special Naval Landing Forces.

Formed at the Kure Naval District, the 3rd Kure SNLF participated in the invasion of Tulagai and the battles of Tulagi and Gavutu–Tanambogo and Milne Bay.[1]

On Guadacanal, the 3rd Kure SNLF detachment of 247 men were under the command of Lieutenant Yoshio Endo, the Tulagi detachment of 350 men were under the command of Commander Masaaki Suzuki and there was a detachment of 50 men at Gavutu. Commander Masaaki Suzuki, led the 3rd Kure SNLF reinforcements at Milne Bay on 29 August 1942.

The 3rd Kure SNLF was all but wiped out after the Solomon Islands campaign.
