25P Microwave Systems Operator/Maintainer
25P Microwave Systems Operator / Maintainer is a military Occupational Specialty in the United States Army Signal Corps. Microwave systems installer-maintainers are primarily responsible for installing, operating and maintaining microwave communications systems.[1]
Job Duties
The job duties of a 25P are to maintain microwave communications and technical control equipment. Monitor and restore telecommunications circuits, trunk groups and systems and maintain circuit, link, system and station records and reports.
Training
Training for the 25P MOS takes place at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Soldiers are trained on Multiplexers, routers, IP switches, tactical or strategic microwave radios, troubleshooting circuits, administrative duties, ATM switches, Prominas, various types of modems, COMSEC, and more. The course requires 11 weeks of training with on-the-job instruction spent between the classroom and in the field.
Required ASVAB Score(s)
Soldiers are required to have a minimum electronics (EL) score of 107 to attend the course.[2]
