209th (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Training Regiment, Royal Artillery

The 209th Heavy later (Mixed) Heavy Anti-Aircraft Training Regiment, Royal Artillery was an air defence training regiment of the Royal Artillery based in Blandford training HAA batteries before joining their respective units.

Deployment

On 29 November 1940, the 209th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Training Regiment was formed at Blandford Camp, Dorset as part of the general expansion of the AA branch of the Royal Artillery. On 27 August 1941 the regiment was re-organised as a (Mixed) regiment which indicated women of the Auxiliary Territorial Service (Women's branch of the army) were part of the unit.[1][2]

Eventually following the decrease of raids on Britain, the regiment was ordered to disbanded on 15 July 1942 and this was competed on 1 September 1942.[1]
