2020 South American Under-17 Women's Football Championship

The 2020 South American Under-17 Women's Football Championship will be the 7th edition of the South American Under-17 Women's Football Championship (Spanish: CONMEBOL Sudamericano Femenino Sub-17), the biennial international youth football championship organised by CONMEBOL for the women's under-17 national teams of South America. The tournament was originally to be held in Venezuela between 15 April – 3 May 2020.[1][2] However, CONMEBOL announced on 10 March 2020 that it would instead be held in Uruguay.[3]

CONMEBOL decided on 19 March 2020 that the tournament would be postponed to late August and early September due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4] On 1 June 2020, CONMEBOL announced that the final stage would be further postponed to November.[5] On 6 August 2020, CONMEBOL confirmed that the final stage would be played between 30 November – 19 December 2020.[6]

The top three teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2021 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup (originally 2020 but postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic) in India as the CONMEBOL representatives.[7]

Brazil are the defending champions.
