1981 Australian Formula 2 Championship

The 1981 Australian Formula 2 Championship was a CAMS sanctioned motor racing title for drivers of Australian Formula 2 racing cars.[1] It was the 14th Australian Formula 2 Championship to be awarded by CAMS.[2]

John Smith won the 1981 Australian Formula 2 Championship in a Ralt RT1, similar to that pictured above.

Calendar

The championship was contested over a six-round series.[3]

All rounds were staged over two heats except for the final round at Calder, which was contested as a single race.[3]

Points system

Championship points were awarded on a 9-6-4-3-2-1 basis for the first six positions at each round.[1] Where round were contested over two heats, points were allocated on a 20-16-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis for the first 14 positions in each heat and then aggregated for each driver to determine the first six positions for the round.[1]

gollark: It wouldn't be very hard. I could probably write such a thing now.
gollark: Basically, you can set a setting to make it not boot from disks by default, then make a program which loads the code off the disk as if it is booting as normal but is really logging the code on the disk somewhere.
gollark: I could still get around that with 1337 h4xx.

gollark: Either way, the real-world credit card system... honestly seems woefully insecure and the only reason it works most of the time is the law and people being somewhat trustworthy.
