1962–63 Iraq Central FA First Division
The 1962–63 Iraq Central FA First Division was the 15th season of the Iraq Central FA League (the top division of football in Baghdad and its neighbouring cities from 1948 to 1973), and the first since returning to the name of First Division. Seven teams competed in the tournament,[1] which started on 23 November 1962.[2] Montakhab Al-Shorta won the first league title in the history of Al-Shorta,[3][4] but lost the 1963 Iraq Central FA Altruism Cup 1–0 to league runners-up Al-Firqa Al-Thalitha.[5]
