Club history
The club was founded in 1969 in Velenje under the name ŽRK Gorenje Velenje. Their first match in the Slovenian republic league was played on 7 September 1969.
Arena
The team plays in the same arena as their more known male counterpart RK Gorenje, in the 2,500 capacity Red Hall in Velenje.
